LONDON, April 29 (UPI) -- Mads Mikkelsen is taking on the role of a father figure in the upcoming spinoff film, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

During a television interview with Sky News, the Danish actor appeared to have revealed "too much," about his Star Wars character before discussing his upcoming role in Dr. Strange.

"I read the script and it was very beautiful, and Felicity [Jones] is playing this lovely, strong woman and I play her father," Mikkelsen said carefully. "And that was way too much, I'm sorry."

After the interviewer pushed to ask whether he can answer if Darth Vader will appear in the film, as is a topic of fan speculation, the actor said "Yes I can, but I won't."

Rogue One, in theaters in December, will follow the story of prisoner Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones), as she rebels against the Empire. She is then hired by the Resistance to steal plans from the Death Star.

Diego Luna, Donnie Yen, Forest Whitaker and Ben Mendelsohn will also star in the spinoff.
