'Jungle Book' crushes 'Huntsman;' earns $61M at the North American box office

LOS ANGELES, April 24 (UPI) -- The critically acclaimed, latest incarnation of The Jungle Book is the No. 1 movie in North America for a second weekend, Rentrak announced Sunday.

The live-action/CGI hybrid earned $61 million in receipts in the United States and Canada since Friday.

Coming in at No. 2 is The Huntsman: Winter's War with $20.1 million, followed by Barbershop: The Next Cut at No. 3 with $10.8 million, Zootopia at No. 4 with $6.6 million and The Boss at No. 5 with $6.1 million.

Rounding out the top tier are Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice at No. 6 with $5.5 million, Criminal at No. 7 with $5.5 million, My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 at No. 8 with $2.1 million, Compadres at No. 9 with $1.4 million and A Hologram For the King at No. 10 with $1.2 million.
