NEW YORK, April 23 (UPI) -- Double Oscar-winner Tom Hanks says he is used to fans approaching him and repeating lines from his movies, but he admits one admirer stumped him with a reference he couldn't quite place.

Hanks told the story after host John Oliver asked him during a Tribeca Film Festival panel Friday to share the most obscure film line someone has ever quoted him as saying on-screen.

"Little boat!" Hanks shouted without hesitation, explaining he was in his car at the time someone shouted it at him, causing him to spend the rest of his ride trying to figure out where he had said the words -- until it suddenly came to him.

"Oh! It's Splash!" he revealed, then, addressing the audience, he quipped: "Talk about a test! I think it's a contest amongst some of you folks. 'Oh, there's Hanks. I'm gonna stump him with a reference.' Dude, I was sweating bullets.

"I was heading to the IMDB," he said, referring to the Internet Movie Data Base website.
