'Jungle Book' is the No. 1 movie in North America with $103.6M

LOS ANGELES, April 17 (UPI) -- Disney's latest incarnation of The Jungle Book is the No. 1 movie in North America, earning $103.6 million in receipts, Rentrak announced Sunday.

The live-action and CGI hybrid movie stars child actor Neel Sethi and features the vocal talents of Idris Elba, Lupita Nyong'o, Bill Murray, Scarlett Johansson and Christopher Walken.

Coming in at No. 2 for the weekend is Barbershop: The Next Cut with $20.2 million, followed by The Boss at No. 3 with $10.2 million, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice at No. 4 with $9 million and Zootopia at No. 5 with $8.2 million.

Rounding out the top tier are Criminal at No. 6 with $5.9 million, My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 at No. 7 with $3.3 million, Miracles From Heaven at No. 8 with $1.9 million, God's Not Dead 2 at No. 9 with $1.7 million and Eye in the Sky at No. 10 with $1.6 million.
