Blake Lively stalked by great white shark in 'Shallows' trailer

LOS ANGELES, March 19 (UPI) -- Sony Pictures has released online a trailer for its upcoming thriller The Shallows, starring Blake Lively.

The 90-second clip has gotten nearly 1 million views since it appeared Friday. It shows the actress as an injured surfer, clinging to some rocks as a huge shark circles her.

"Nancy is surfing alone on a secluded beach when she is attacked by a great white shark and stranded just a short distance from shore," a synopsis said.

"Though she is only 200 yards from her survival, getting there proves the ultimate contest of wills. It's Jaws for a new generation."

The Shallows is to open in theaters June 24.
