Will Smith starts work on big-screen drama 'Collateral Beauty'

BURBANK, Calif., March 3 (UPI) -- Director David Frankel has begun principal photography on the big-screen drama Collateral Beauty, starring Will Smith, Edward Norton and Keira Knightley.

Also featuring Michael Pena, Naomie Harris, Jacob Latimore, Kate Winslet and Helen Mirren, the New Line Cinema and Village Roadshow Pictures production is scheduled for theatrical release Dec. 16.

"When a successful New York advertising executive experiences a deep personal tragedy and retreats from life entirely, his colleagues devise a drastic plan to force him to confront his grief in a surprising and profoundly human way," a synopsis said.

Frankel is directing from an original screenplay by Allan Loeb.
