LOS ANGELES, March 2 (UPI) -- Anya Taylor-Joy will star in the Barack Obama biopic Barry. The 19-year-old actress will play a college student Obama forged a key relationship with during his time at Columbia University, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Barry will take place in 1981 and explore a young Obama's college years in New York. The U.S. president graduated with a bachelor's degree in political science in 1983 and went on to attend Harvard Law School.
Newcomer Devon Terrell will play Obama in the movie, which is expected to start shooting in April. Go the [Expletive] to Sleep author Adam Mansbach wrote the script, with Kumare director and Vice correspondent Vikram Gandhi to serve as director.
Taylor-Joy is best known for playing Thomasin in the movie The Witch. The horror movie won the Directing Award in the U.S. Dramatic category at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival and opened to critical and audience acclaim in February.
"I think, probably, the place that I feel I most belong is a movie set," Taylor-Joy recently told Interview magazine. "It doesn't matter where it is in the world or who I'm making the movie with; that's the closest thing that I've got to a sense of placement."
Taylor-Joy is also known for playing Cassandra on BBC series Atlantis. She is slated for a number of upcoming projects, including Morgan with Kate Mara, Split with James McAvoy and Huntsville with Shea Whigham.
