'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' is No. 1 in North America for a fourth weekend

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the No. 1 movie in North America for a fourth, consecutive weekend, Rentrak announced Sunday.

The blockbuster -- which set a new record when it crossed the $1 billion global milestone just 12 days after it was released -- added $41.6 million to Disney's coffers in the United States and Canada Jan. 8-10.

Coming in at No. 2 in North America during the same frame is The Revenant with $38 million, followed by Daddy's Home at No. 3 with $15 million, The Forest at No. 4 with $13.1 million and Sisters at No. 5 with $7.2 million.

Rounding out the top tier are The Hateful Eight at No. 6 with $6.4 million, The Big Short at No. 7 with $6.3 million, Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip at No. 8 with $5.5 million, Joy at No. 9 with $4.5 million and Concussion at No. 10 with $3.1 million.
