PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Actor Michael B. Jordan went all out for his starring role in Rocky spin-off Creed according to a new video posted by Sylvester Stallone.

The footage, posted by Stallone on Twitter on Wednesday, features Jordan getting ready for a boxing match scene inside a ring.

Once the director is heard yelling action off-screen, the actor is suddenly punched for real by his opponent before he dramatically falls down to ground completely knocked out.

"Michael B Jordan, "young creed and "getting KO'd for real! But he got up and did it again! That's called guts!!" Stallone captioned the video.

"The way we approached it was that every punch was line," Jordan said during a recent conversation on Entertainment Weekly Radio on SiriusXM about how the fight scenes were filmed. "Every fight was its own scene. So we tried to look at it like that so you're not just throwing punches for no reason."

The film which has earned rave reviews from critics and was a hit at the box office could potentially be the start of a new series says Stallone.

Creed is the seventh film in the Rocky series and follows the story of Adonis Creed (Jordan), the son of Rocky's (Stallone) late friend and former ring-rival Apollo Creed as he trains to become a boxer.
