'Spectre' tops the North American box office with $73M

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 8 (UPI) -- The latest James Bond adventure Spectre is the No. 1 movie in North America, earning $73 million at the box office this weekend, Rentrak announced Sunday.

Coming in at No. 2 is The Peanuts Movie with $45 million, followed by The Martian at No. 3 with $9.3 million, Goosebumps at No. 4 with $7 million and Bridge of Spies at No. 5 with $6.1 million.

Rounding out the top tier are Hotel Transylvania 2 at No. 6 with $3.6 million, Burnt at No. 7 with $3 million, The Last Witch Hunter at No. 8 with $2.7 million, The Intern at No. 9 with $1.8 million and Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension at No. 10 with $1.7 million.
