Alice Through the Looking Glass is based on the Lewis Carroll novel Through the Looking-Glass, the sequel to Alice in Wonderland. James Bobin will replace Tim Burton as director on the new movie, while Burton will serve as producer.
Anne Hathaway, Matt Lucas and Rhys Ifans co-star as the White Queen, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, and the Mad Hatter's father, respectively. Stephen Fry, Alan Rickman and Michael Sheen voice the Cheshire Cat, the Caterpillar and the White Rabbit.
Alice in Wonderland opened in theaters in March 2010, and earned over $1.02 billion at the box office. The sequel is slated for release May 27, 2016.
