NEW YORK, Nov. 4 (UPI) -- Brad Pitt and wife Angelina Jolie cozied up at a New York screening of By the Sea on Tuesday. The 51-year-old actor and 40-year-old actress looked the picture-perfect and happy couple as they promoted the film at the Directors Guild of America theater in Manhattan.

Pitt sported a dapper charcoal grey cap and vest, while Jolie wore a belted, vintage-inspired blue dress. The couple held hands and exchanged kisses on the red carpet, and multiple news outlets remarked on how in love the pair appeared.
By the Sea is written and helmed by Jolie, and marks the actors' first project together since Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Pitt recently praised his wife's skill at directing to V magazine, and the actress revealed her inspiration for the movie to People on Wednesday.
"I wrote By the Sea because I wanted to explore grief," she shared. "Much of the film and my character are very much about my [late] mother and my feelings about my mother ... Everybody in the film represents a different way of addressing grief."
By the Sea opens in theaters Nov. 13. Pitt and Jolie married in August 2014 after nine years together, and share six children: 14-year-old Maddox, 11-year-old Pax, 10-year-old Zahara, 9-year-old Shiloh and 7-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.
