Alice Through the Looking Glass is based on the Lewis Carroll novel Through the Looking-Glass, and is a sequel to Tim Burton's adaptation of Carroll's book Alice in Wonderland. James Bobin replaced Burton as director on the new movie.

Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway and Matt Lucas will return as the Mad Hatter, the White Queen and Tweedledee/Tweedledum, respectively, while newcomers Sacha Baron Cohen and Rhys Ifans will play Time and the Mad Hatter's father.

Alice in Wonderland opened in theaters in March 2010 and earned over $1.02 billion at the box office. Stephen Fry, Alan Rickman and Michael Sheen will reprise their voice roles as the Cheshire Cat, the Caterpillar and the White Rabbit in the sequel.
