Natalie Portman fights back in 'Jane Got a Gun' trailer

The actress also produced the western movie.

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 22 (UPI) -- Natalie Portman stars in a first, international trailer for Jane Got a Gun.

The preview sees the 34-year-old actress enlist her ex-fiancé (Joel Edgerton) to help her fight a frontier gang led by the vicious John Bishop (Ewan McGregor). Jane learns to defend her injured husband (Noah Emmerich) and daughter, but her former flame may forsake her cause.

Jane Got a Gun was directed by Warrior helmer Gavin O'Connor, with Portman as producer. The movie was originally slated for release in August 2014, but languished for months in post-production. The film will open in theaters in February 2016.

Portman will star in Knight of Cups with Christian Bale in March 2016. She is also scheduled for another Terrence Malick project, in addition to Planetarium with Lily-Rose Depp and the Jacqueline Kennedy biopic Jackie.
