LOS ANGELES, Sept. 18 (UPI) -- The Last Witch Hunter released a new trailer starring Vin Diesel on Friday.

The preview sees the 48-year-old actor team up with Rose Leslie and Elijah Wood to take on a coven of evil witches bent on destroying the world. The trailer gives several glimpses of the characters' foes, including the Witch Queen, played by Julie Engelbrecht.

The Last Witch Hunter is directed by The Crazies helmer Breck Eisner, and opens in theaters Oct. 23. Vin Diesel told fans in June the studio, Lionsgate Entertainment, was so excited by the movie plans are already underway for a sequel.

Vin Diesel is also scheduled for xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk and Furious 8. Leslie is known for portraying Gwen on Downton Abbey and Ygritte on Game of Thrones and slated for the thriller Morgan with Kate Mara.
