TORONTO, Sept. 15 (UPI) -- Actor Tom Hiddleston opened up about his next two starring roles, Kong: Skull Island and Thor: Ragnarok Monday while making his rounds during the Toronto International Film Festival.

Speaking with Collider to promote festival films High-Rise and I Saw the Light, the 34-year-old star hinted at the story and character he is playing in Kong: Skull Island.

"Well, Kong: Skull Island is the next thing on the books, he told Collider. "It's so exciting. I've been digging around in some dark material, to be honest. There's something very heroic about my character in Skull Island. He's an adventurer, he's an explorer. I mean, it's a King Kong film. There we go."

The film which centers around a team of explorers who journey to the exotic home of King Kong, will be directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts. Hiddleston spoke highly of the director, mentioning that "The way Jordan Vogt-Roberts has conceived of it, there's something in there which I find very compelling about King Kong as an emblem of the power of nature in some way, and man's relationship to it. I think he's got just brilliant ideas about exploring that. Incredible sequences, a particular context they put King Kong in that you've never see him in before, so I'm really excited."

On Friday, Kong: Skull Island was moved over to Warner Bros. in order to setup a potential crossover film with another iconic movie monster, Godzilla.

When asked about Marvel's plans for the third installment in the Thor series, the actor was less forthcoming with information mentioning how he isn't even sure what's to come next for fan-favorite Loki.

I'm sorry to say I have nothing to give you. I literally have nothing, Hiddleston said when asked to give a tease. "I don't know what's happening. [laughs] That's what I know, that's literally the limits of what I know."

When asked if Loki would be seen outside the third Thor film in the larger Marvel cinematic universe, Hiddleston responded, "I don't know. It's all in Kevin Feige's brain. It feels like the Marvel Universe is expanding at such a rate, and I wish – I'm not being coy – I don't know where Loki fits into that. So we'll see. Your guess is as good as mine."

On Monday, Hiddleston's I Saw the Light co-star Elizabeth Olsen opened up about the acting duo's on-screen chemistry.
