CBS Films acquires U.S. rights to 'Sense of an Ending'

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 8 (UPI) -- CBS Films has picked up the U.S. distribution rights for The Sense of an Ending, which stars Jim Broadbent, Charlotte Rampling, Harriet Walter, Emily Mortimer and Michelle Dockery.

The Luchbox director Ritesh Batra is currently helming the big-screen adaptation of Julian Barnes' Man Booker Prize-winning novel in London.

The screenplay was penned by Nick Payne.

Barnes' 2011 book is about how the death of a college friend forces a retired man to face secrets from his past.
