LOS ANGELES, Sept. 1 (UPI) -- Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige is now reporting directly to Walt Disney Studios Chairman Alan Horn instead of Marvel Entertainment Chief Operating Officer Ike Perlmutter.

Deadline said the reorganization went into effect last week and only impacts Marvel's film division.

"It made sense. They made a good partnership. They've had a very successful run together and have worked very well creatively," an insider told the entertainment news website about Feige and Horn's professional relationship.

While Perlmutter no longer has control over the Marvel movie empire, he will continue to supervise Marvel's television projects and other endeavors. Walt Disney Studios President Alan Bergman also will be involved in Marvel matters.

Among Marvel's many recent blockbusters are Ant-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Age of Ultron.
