LOS ANGELES, Aug. 2 (UPI) -- Channing Tatum will star in the X-Men spinoff Gambit, despite recent media reports stating he is backing out of the project due to stalled negotiations.
The Hollywood Reporter acknowledged talks between Tatum and 20th Century Fox temporarily had been a little rocky, however the entertainment industry trade newspaper reported the two parties ultimately reached a deal.
Backend compensation and where the character fit into the Marvel movie franchise were among the issues that needed to be ironed out.
Rupert Wyatt is helming Gambit, which was penned by Josh Zetumer. Tatum's recent film credits include Magic Mike XXL, The Book of Life, 22 Jump Street and Foxcatcher.
