The sequel's cast is seeking to raise funds for nine children's causes, including the Make a Wish Foundation and the Heaven Homes organization. The video sees Elba breakdance to celebrate his role and promote the fundraiser.

Star Trek Beyond is directed by Fast & Furious helmer Justin Lin, and opens in theaters July 8, 2016. The movie was preceded by Star Trek (2009) and Star Trek into Darkness (2013), which earned a combined $853.1 million at the box office.

Elba is best known for portraying Russell "Stringer" Bell on HBO series The Wire and Det. John Luther on BBC drama Luther. He also plays Heimdall in the Marvel cinematic universe, and is scheduled for Netflix movie Beasts of No Nation.
