Olivia Munn to play Psylocke in 'X-Men: Apocalypse'

Starring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult and Ben Hardy, the movie is set for release May 27, 2016.

LOS ANGELES, April 13 (UPI) -- Olivia Munn has landed a role in X-Men: Apocalypse, director Bryan Singer announced via social media Monday.

"Excited to welcome @oliviamunn as Betsy Braddock! #Psylocke #XmenApocalypse #XMEN," Singer posted on Twitter and Instagram.

Munn's own accounts confirmed, "#Pyslocke #XmenApocalypse #XMEN @bryanjaysinger." Her message also featured a row of astonished emojis.

The actress is best known for her work on the TV series The Newsroom and The Daily Show, as well as in the film Mortdecai. She is also a member of the voice cast for the animated series Miles From Tomorrowland.
