"The movie trailer is the most important piece of marketing in the studio's war chest. A memorable trailer can make or break a campaign, especially today, when so many people are viewing these materials digitally," Evelyn Watters, executive director of the Golden Trailer Awards, said in a statement. "The first Fifty Shades of Grey trailer was viewed online by an estimated 7 million people in the first 24 hours. A few years ago, The Avengers trailer generated 10 million views in its first day of release. The Golden Trailer Awards celebrates and rewards the best of the best by showcasing the extraordinary and talented artists, editors, executives, and visual effects and animation wizards who have mastered the art of selling a movie in roughly 2 minutes."
