LOS ANGELES, April 10 (UPI) -- Dwayne Johnson stars in a new clip from disaster film San Andreas.
The 42-year-old actor portrays Los Angeles Fire Department helicopter rescue pilot Ray. The preview sees the character making a daring attempt to save estranged wife Emma (Carla Gugino) after the city is hit by a devastating earthquake.
San Andreas is directed by Brad Peyton, whom Johnson previously collaborated with on Journey 2: The Mysterious Island. Alexandra Daddario co-stars as the couple's daughter Blake, and Colton Haynes, Archie Panjabi and Kylie Minogue also have roles.
Johnson last appeared as Luke Hobbs in Furious 7, and is scheduled for spy comedy Central Intelligence with Kevin Hart, DC Comics movie Shazam! and animated Disney film Moana. San Andreas opens in theaters May 29.
