NEW YORK, March 6 (UPI) -- Movies starring Richard Gere, Jessica Biel, Dakota Fanning, Amber Heard, Mary J. Blige and James Franco will be among the offerings at next month's Tribeca Film Festival in New York.
The prestigious event's lineup will also include films featuring Riley Keough, Faith Hill, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Patricia Arquette, Roseanne Barr, Christopher Walken, Ethan Hawke, Laverne Cox, Lily Tomlin, Oscar Isaac, Jason Sudeikis, Amanda Peet, Adam Scott and Kristen Stewart.
The festival is to take place April 15-26 at locations throughout downtown Manhattan.
According to press notes and summaries released this week by the event's organizers, some of the highlights will include:
The Adderall Diaries, directed and written by Pamela Romanowsky. James Franco plays a washed-up novelist battling writer's block and an Adderall addiction. Amber Heard, Ed Harris and Cynthia Nixon co-star.
Anesthesia, directed and written by Tim Blake Nelson. This gritty drama is about a university professor who is mugged in New York. It stars Sam Waterston, Kristen Stewart, Glenn Close and Cory Stoll.
Bleeding Heart, directed and written by Diane Bell. Jessica Biel plays a yoga instructor whose tranquil life is up-ended by the return of her estranged sister Shiva, played by Zosia Mamet. With Edi Gathegi, Joe Anderson, Kate Burton and Harry Hamlin.
Dixieland, directed and written by Hank Bedford. An ex-con, played by Chris Zylka, and an aspiring stripper, played by Riley Keough, try to escape their small-town lives. Co-starring Faith Hill.
Franny, directed and written by Andrew Renzi. Richard Gere plays a rich eccentric who gloms on to his dead friend's daughter, played by Dakota Fanning, and her new husband, played by Theo James.
Good Kill, directed and written by Andrew Niccol. Ethan Hawke reunites with his Gattaca director for a drama about the human costs of advanced war technology. Co-starring January Jones and Zoe Kravitz.
Grandma, directed and written by Paul Weitz. Fading poet Elle Reid is surprised to find her teenage granddaughter on her doorstep. Starring Lily Tomlin, Julia Garner, Marcia Gay Harden, Judy Greer, Laverne Cox and Sam Elliott.
Maggie, directed by Henry Hobson, written by John Scott 3. A zombie apocalypse-themed family drama starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Abigail Breslin and Joely Richardson.
Mary J. Blige: The London Sessions is a documentary, which follows Blige as she writes and records an album. The film's festival premiere will take place at the Beacon Theater and be followed by a live performance from Blige.
Mojave, directed by and written by William Monahan. Monahan's second feature, starring Oscar Isaac and Garrett Hedlund, is about a Hollywood filmmaker who heads to the Mojave Desert where he finds a drifter swearing he is the Devil.
Roseanne for President!, directed by Eric Weinrib. This documentary features comedian Roseanne Barr as she campaigns for candidacy in the 2012 U.S. presidential race.
Sleeping With Other People, directed and written by Leslye Headland. Jason Sudeikis and Alison Brie play characters trying to keep their relationship platonic after a series of self-inflicted, romantic disasters. Co-starring Amanda Peet, Adam Scott and Natasha Lyonne.
The Wannabe, directed and written by Nick Sandow. Vincent Piazza and Patricia Arquette play small-time crooks who rob New York's top mobsters in a real-life crime story executive produced by Martin Scorsese.
When I Live My Life Over Again, directed and written by Robert Edwards. Amber Heard plays an aspiring singer-songwriter who returns to the Hamptons home of her father, played by Christopher Walken.
