Big night for 'Birdman,' Julianne Moore, Eddie Redmayne at the Oscars

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 23 (UPI) -- The dark comedy Birdman, starring Michael Keaton, Emma Stone and Edward Norton, was named Best Picture at the 87th Oscars ceremony in Los Angeles Sunday night.

Alejandro G. Inarritu won the Best Director award for helming the feature, which also earned the honors for Best Original Screenplay and Best Cinematography.

Eddie Redmayne took home the Best Actor prize for his performance in The Theory of Everything, while Julianne Moore scored the Best Actress accolade for Still Alice.

J.K. Simmons earned the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for Whiplash, which also won for Best Editing.

Patricia Arquette won the Best Supporting Actress trophy for Boyhood and the Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar went to The Imitation Game scribe Graham Moore.

Ida was declared Best Foreign Language Film, Big Hero 6 Best Animated Feature and Feast Best Animated Short.

CITIZENFOUR won the title of Best Documentary and "Glory" from Selma earned the Oscar for Best Original Song.

The Grand Budapest Hotel earned the Oscars for Best Original Score, Best Costumes, Hair and Makeup, and Production Design.
