The film is based on the 1697 Charles Perrault fairy tale and 1950 Disney animated feature of the same name. The studio will also release a live-action remake of The Jungle Book with voice roles by Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson, and Beauty and the Beast starring Emma Watson.

Cinderella opens in theaters March 13. James is best known for playing Lady Rose McClare on ITV series Downton Abbey, and will star as Elizabeth Bennet in an upcoming adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith novel Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.
