Tegan and Sara, Lonely Island to sing 'Everything is Awesome' at the Oscars

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 7 (UPI) -- The pop duo Tegan and Sara will team up with the comedy-music trio The Lonely Island to perform the Oscar-nominated song "Everything is Awesome" at the 87th Academy Awards ceremony.

The tune from the animated feature The LEGO Movie is up for Best Original Song. The Lonely Island is comprised of Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone.

"Tegan and Sara and The Lonely Island?... Everything is awesome, indeed. This is certainly an 'Only on the Oscars' moment," telecast producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron said in a statement Friday.

The ceremony is to be hosted by Neil Patrick Harris and will air live Feb. 22 on ABC.
