LOS ANGELES, Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Nicolas Cage will star in new satire Army of One.

The 51-year-old actor will portray Gary Faulkner, a real-life Colorado man who attempted to hunt down Osama Bin Laden. Faulkner was apprehended in the mountains of Pakistan carrying a sword, dagger and pistol in 2010.

Army of One is loosely based on a Chris Heath article on Faulkner written for GQ. Draft Day writers Scott Rothman and Rajiv Joseph penned the script, and Borat director Larry Charles will helm the film for TWC-Dimension.

"For many years I've been a fan of Larry Charles, from his work on Seinfeld to Borat and Bruno and, most recently, The Dictator. I'm thrilled to be in business with him and look forward to working with him on this fascinating story," The Weinstein Co. co-chairman Bob Weinstein said.

Cage last appeared as Evan Lake in Paul Schrader film Dying of the Light. The actor is scheduled for a number of upcoming projects, including The Runner and Pay the Ghost, and is rumored for National Treasure 3.
