LOS ANGELES, Jan. 12 (UPI) -- The Grand Budapest Hotel won the Golden Globe Award for Best Comedy Film in Los Angeles Sunday night. Writer-director Wes Anderson took a moment to thank individual members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association -- which bestows the Globes -- for the honor.

"These are the people I want to thank tonight and many others with names nothing like theirs, but equally captivating," Anderson said, as the film's stars Adrien Brody, Ralph Fiennes, Billy Murray and Edward Norton gathered behind him. "I thank you for this Golden Globe."
Michael Keaton earned the prize for Best Actor in a Comedy Film for his turn in Birdman.
"I want to thank the Hollywood Foreign Press for even having a comedy category. Really, man, really," Keaton said. "If I can carry that flag for even a night, I'm proud to do so."
Speaking specifically to the film's director and co-writer Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, the actor continued: "Alejandro, there is not a person in this room who won't show up for your next gig, my brother.
"I'm telling you, just name the place, you name the time. Not just me. There's not an actor or actress in this room who won't show up. Thanks for being a true artist and thanks for letting me be part of this unbelievably gutsy, unapologetic look at human nature. Thanks. It's been a ride," he said. "I'm so grateful, honestly, from the bottom of my heart. You have no idea what this means to me."
Amy Adams won the accolade for Best Actress in a Comedy Film for her performance in Big Eyes.
"To say I am ill-prepared for this moment is an understatement. I didn't even reapply lip gloss," Adams quipped. "I feel so fortunate to be here."
