George Clooney to Amal: I couldn't be more proud to be your husband

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 11 (UPI) -- George Clooney publicly declared his love for his new wife Amal during his acceptance speech for a career achievement honor at the Golden Globe Awards ceremony Sunday night.

The movie star and longtime bachelor married the gorgeous human-rights barrister last September.

"I've had a pretty good year myself and I'm not just referring to the fabulous reviews of The Monuments Men," Clooney laughed.

"It's a humbling thing when you find someone to love," he said, smiling at his wife, who was sitting in the audience. "Even better if you've been waiting your whole life and when your whole life is 53 years... Amal, whatever alchemy it is that brought us together, I couldn't be more proud to be your husband."
