LOS ANGELES, Jan. 1 (UPI) -- Olympic gold medal-winning wrestler Mark Schultz is now condemning Foxcatcher, a movie about his life, after initially endorsing it.

The film stars Channing Tatum as Schultz, Mark Ruffalo as his late brother Dave and Steve Carell as John DuPont -- the wealthy, troubled Pennsylvania man who supports the siblings in their training, then kills Dave. Directed by Bennett Miller, the movie has earned rave reviews and numerous award nominations.

Schultz has taken to Twitter, however, to denounce both Miller and the film for the way he is portrayed in it. He has also added a link to Amazon, touting his book Foxcatcher: The True Story of My Brother's Murder, John du Pont's Madness, and the Quest for Olympic Gold.

"Everything I've ever said positive about the movie I take back. I hate it. i hate it. i hate it. I hate it. i hate it. i hate it. I hate it," Schultz said in one of many tweets he posted Wednesday.

The day before, Schultz asked his Twitter followers, "Pretty lousy what the director did to my character huh?"

Miller has not yet publicly responded to Schultz's remarks.
