"Special thanks to 'Fifty Shades of Grey' and the fans' support... XO," The Weeknd wrote on Twitter.

Fifty Shades of Grey is based on the E.L. James novel of the same name. Dakota Johnson stars as Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson), a college student who develops a relationship with Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan), a wealthy businessman with a predilection for BDSM.

The Weeknd is the stage name of Toronto recording artist Abel Tesfaye. He debuted his first studio album, Kiss Land, in September 2013, after releasing a number of mixtapes over the years. The record peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, and includes the singles "Live For" and "Pretty."
