Jena Malone, Riley Keough to star in 'Lovesong'

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 23 (UPI) -- Jena Malone and Riley Keough have been cast in Lovesong.

The 30-year-old actress and 25-year-old granddaughter of Elvis Presley will portray Mindy and Sarah, best friends who take an impromptu road trip with Sarah's young daughter. The pair develop a romance to their surprise, but Mindy is engaged to be married.

So Yong Kim will direct, and co-wrote the film with Bradley Rust Gray. Malone previously collaborated with Kim on For Ellen (2012), and she and Keough both appeared in Gray's romantic horror movie Jack & Diane (2012).

Malone last appeared as Johanna Mason in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1, and will star as Hope Harlingen in Paul Thomas Anderson film Inherent Vice. She is also scheduled for thriller Angelica and mystery The Bottom of the World.

Keough made her film debut in The Runaways in 2010, and appeared as Nora in Magic Mike in 2012. She will portray Capable in Mad Max: Fury Road, and star in a television adaptation of Steven Soderbergh movie The Girlfriend Experience.
