Jeff Bridges stars in new trailer for 'Seventh Son'

The film is based on Joseph Delaney's young adult novel "The Spook's Apprentice."

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 29 (UPI) -- Jeff Bridges stars in a new trailer for Seventh Son.

The 64-year old actor portrays John Gregory, the last of a mystical order of knights called Spooks. The character passes on his knowledge to apprentice Tom Ward (Ben Barnes), and helps him battle monsters, sorcery and evil witch Mother Malkin (Julianne Moore).

Seventh Son is loosely based on the novel The Spook's Apprentice, the first book in Joseph Delaney's series The Wardstone Chronicles. Sergei Bodrov directed the film, and Alicia Vikander, Kit Harington, Djimon Hounsou, Antje Traue and Olivia Williams also star.

The movie was scheduled to open in February 2013, but experienced a number of setbacks. Seventh Son will open in theaters February 6, 2015.
