Emma Stone debuts short hair at premiere of 'Birdman'

VENICE, Italy, Aug. 27 (UPI) -- Emma Stone debuted new, short hair at the 2014 Venice Film Festival.

The 25-year-old actress showed off her bob haircut with sideswept bangs at the premiere of her movie Birdman on Wednesday. Stone wore an emerald-colored Valentino gown with knot details at the waist and shoulders to the event.

Birdman opened the festival and was met with rave reviews. Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu (Babel) directed the film, with Stone, Michael Keaton, Edward Norton, Andrea Riseborough, Zach Galifianakis and Naomi Watts as stars. Keaton portrays Riggan Thomson, a washed up actor who tries to reclaim his career by directing a Broadway play, and Stone plays his daughter, Sam.

Birdman opens in theaters October 17, and Stone will appear in a new Woody Allen film next year.
