LOS ANGELES, Aug. 21 (UPI) -- Evangeline Lilly has revealed her new look for Ant-Man.

The 35-year-old actress posted two pictures of her haircut Wednesday on Instagram. Lilly shows off her short, blunt bob with bangs in one of the photos, and poses with co-star Paul Rudd in the other.

"How's my new do?" she asks in the caption.

"First day on set with #PaulRudd," she explains in the other shot. "#ilovemylife #antman #hopevandyne #scottlang #marvelcomics."

Lilly will star as Hope Van Dyne in the adaptation. Hope is daughter to Dr. Henry "Hank" Pym (Michael Douglas), the etymologist and physicist who develops the size-shifting substance and becomes the original Ant-Man. The character is Hank's daughter with Janet van Dyne, aka the Wasp, in the Marvel comics, and duplicates her mother's powers to become the Red Queen.

Ant-Man is directed by Peyton Reed, and co-stars Rudd as Scott Lang, a reformed thief and electronics expert who becomes Ant-Man at Hank's bequest. Corey Stoll, Michael Pena, David Dastmalchian, T.I., Bobby Cannavale, Judy Greer and John Slattery also have roles. The movie is scheduled for release July 17, 2015.
