LOS ANGELES, Aug. 13 (UPI) -- British actress Sophie Turner will take a break from playing Sansa Stark on Game of Thrones in order to take a turn as author Mary Shelley, the author of Gothic horror novel Frankenstein.

Turner was cast opposite Jeremy Irvine, who will play her husband, Percy Shelley in the movie Mary Shelley's Monster, Deadline reported.

Taissa Farmiga, who is best known for her work on American Horror Story, has also been tapped for the film.

The movie, written by Deborah Baxtrom, focuses on the writing of Frankenstein, which was published anonymously when Mary Shelley was 21 years old.

It's "the story of the most extraordinary 19th century teenage heroine told in a visceral, sexy, contemporary way," producer Rose Ganguzza said of the film. "Our film is not a period drama. It is a story of youth that transcends time, a gothic romance, a love triangle that involves a dark passenger and we are tremendously excited to have such an exciting cast onboard this wonderful project."

Coky Giedroyc is slated to direct, and in addition to Ganguzza, J Todd Harris, Damon Lane and Marc Marcum will produce.
