NEW YORK, July 30 (UPI) -- Anne Hathaway's rep has denied claims that the actress demanded for a food prop for the movie The Intern to be vegan.

Insiders told Page Six that the Oscar-winning actress requested a healthier option for a scene that "called for her to take a bite of chocolate cake."

After the fact, a prop department production assistant was reportedly sent to get two orders of three-layer chocolate ganache cakes from New York City bakery Vegan Divas.

While Hathaway has said she is both vegan and gluten-free in the past, her agent said the allegations were "completely false as Anne is no longer a vegan."

Director Nancy Meyers's The Intern is a comedy about a fashion website that brings in an elderly intern. Hathaway will co-star in the film with Robert DeNiro.
