LOS ANGELES, July 25 (UPI) -- Expendables 3 has leaked online three weeks ahead of its premiere.

A copy was made available on various piracy websites Wednesday, and downloaded over 189,000 times in 24 hours. Leaked movies are usually of poor quality, but the leaked version of Expendables 3 is said to be of excellent quality. The copy is taken from a DVD screener, a format the movie's distributer gives to media figures ahead of the film's release in theaters.

Blog TorrentFreak believes it has traced the leak back to "an entity known as Drarbg," which may be a single person or a group of people. It is possible the source of the leak will never be identified.

Expendables 3 stars Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Antonio Banderas, Wesley Snipes, Dolph Lundgren, Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford and Arnold Schwarzenegger, among others, and is scheduled for release August 15. The leak may cost distributor Lionsgate millions of dollars in lost sales.
