LOS ANGELES, July 1 (UPI) -- Jessica Chastain and James McAvoy star in the first trailer for The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby.

The 37-year-old actress portrays the title character, with McAvoy as her husband Connor Ludlow. The trailer follows the progression of their love story: from their early days as blissful lovers to the life-changing event that threatens to tear their relationship apart.

The film is directed by Ned Benson, and co-produced by Chastain herself. The movie is unique in that it is actually made up of three full-length films, Him, Her and Them, under the collective title of The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby. Him tells the story from Connor's perspective, and Her is from Eleanor's.

Them will be released in theaters September 26, with Him and Her to follow later in the fall.
