Michael Keaton stars in 'Birdman' trailer

Michael Keaton played the Caped Crusader in the 1989 "Batman" film.

LOS ANGELES, June 12 (UPI) -- The first trailer for the movie Birdman was released Thursday starring Michael Keaton, Emma Stone and Edward Norton.

The story follows a washed-up actor (Keaton) as he tries to reclaim his career after playing an iconic superhero. As he struggles to get a Broadway play off the ground, he tries to regain his career, family and identity.

The film will hit theaters October 17.
