Actress Evan Rachel Wood sued for $30 million in breach of contract claim

LOS ANGELES, June 6 (UPI) -- Evan Rachel Wood is being sued for a whopping $30 million.

10 Things I Hate About Life producers claim the 26-year-old actress breached her contract when she left the production in 2013. 10 Films LLC filed the lawsuit Thursday seeking $30 million in recompense for investments, expenses and lost profits.

"[Wood] seemingly changed her mind about appearing in the film during principle photography," the claim reads, "ultimately refusing without any legal justification to fulfill her contractual obligations and instead opting to walk out on the project."

Production on the film came to a halt in February 2013 after the producers ran out of money. A representative for the actress calls the lawsuit "preposterous," and posits the claim is "simply a bullying tactic from financially troubled producers."

"Even after that, Evan agreed to resume production in November 2013, by which time the producers said they would have cleared up their issues," the rep says. "However, the producers still could not get their act together, nor did they pay Evan money that was owed."

"Repeated subsequent promises by the producers to resume production and pay Evan also turned out to be false," the rep adds. "Enough is enough. The producers, not Evan, have breached contract."
