The Jem and the Holograms movie is based on the 1980s Hasbro toy line and cartoon of the same name. The story follows Jerrica Benton, a music company owner, whose alter ego Jem performs with her band the Holograms. The movie's plot will change Jem into an orphan teenage musical sensation who embarks with her friends on an adventure across Los Angeles.

Jon M. Chu (G.I. Joe Retaliation) is signed on to direct, and production on the film has already started.
