NEW YORK, Feb. 4 (UPI) -- A wake for Philip Seymour Hoffman, who died of a suspected drug overdose, will be Thursday in Manhattan with a funeral Friday, the New York Post reported.

The Oscar-winning film star, who died Sunday, is suspected to have overdosed on heroin. He was 46.

Mimi O'Donnell, Hoffman's longtime girlfriend and the mother of his three young children, was seen arriving at the Frank E. Campbell Funeral Home on Madison Avenue to make arrangements Tuesday morning. A private wake for family and friends is to take place there Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m., the Post said.

A funeral service is set for Friday at the St. Ignatius of Loyola Church on Park Avenue.

Hoffman had a substance-abuse problem as a young actor, but stayed clean and sober for more than 20 years before suffering a relapse in 2012 and abusing drugs again.

The Post said O'Donnell had thrown Hoffman out of their apartment three months ago because of his drug use. He had been staying in a flat several blocks away from his family ever since.

"It was known that he was struggling to stay sober, and his wife had given him some tough love and told him he needed some time away from the kids and to get straight again," the newspaper said of O'Donnell, Hoffman's girlfriend of 14 years.
