LOS ANGELES, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- Australian actor Hugh Jackman has signed on to play the pirate Blackbeard in Hollywood's upcoming Peter Pan picture, Variety reported Friday.

Joe Wright is on board to direct the anticipated 2015 release for Warner Bros.

Variety said Garrett Hedlund is in talks to star as Captain Hook.

No word yet on the fantasy film's title or the name of the actor who will play Peter Pan.
