Joe Wright to direct Peter Pan film for Warner Bros.

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 22 (UPI) -- British director Joe Wright is to direct an as-yet-untitled, live-action Peter Pan adventure, Warner Bros. announced.

"Peter Pan has delighted people of every generation for more than a century, so we are thrilled to bring him back to the screen next summer for today's moviegoers," Dan Fellman, the studio's president of domestic distribution, said in a statement.

The film will be based on a screenplay by Jason Fuchs and will incorporate author J.M. Barrie's classic characters such as Peter Pan, Captain Hook, Wendy and Tinker Bell.

Produced by Greg Berlanti and Paul Webster, the movie is set for release July 17, 2015.

No casting has been announced yet.

Wright's films include "Pride & Prejudice," "Atonement" and "Anna Karenina," all of which starred Keira Knightley.
