'Rob Ford the Movie' spoof with Chris Farley clips hits YouTube

TORONTO, Nov. 21 (UPI) -- A Toronto filmmaker posted a movie trailer online using clips of the late comedian Chris Farley to lampoon admitted crack cocaine user Toronto Mayor Rob Ford.

Ford, whose resemblance to the former "Saturday Night Live" star has been noted often, admitted this month he has smoked crack in "one of his drunken stupors." The admission came about six months after initial reports in the Toronto Star that Ford had been seen on a cellphone video smoking from a crack pipe.

The spoof trailer for "Rob Ford the Movie" uses clips from "Black Sheep" (1996) and "Tommy Boy" (1995), in which Farley plays well-meaning but boisterous buffoons.

In "Black Sheep," his character is involved in his brother's campaign for political office.

The trailer -- directed by Tristan Gough -- opens with a scene of Farley behind the wheel of a car, laughing and saying, "I'm stoned," followed by a title card that reads, "Rob Ford was always getting into trouble."

Farley's brother, actor Kevin Farley, tweeted, "I think it's safe to say that my brother would have crushed playing the Rob Ford guy on SNL."

Chris Farley died in 1997 at age 33 in Chicago. An autopsy concluded the cause of death was drug overdose.
