LOS ANGELES, Oct. 2 (UPI) -- Hollywood actor Mark Wahlberg has signed on to star in the sequel to his 2012 blockbuster comedy "Ted," EW.com reported Wednesday.

"Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane is also returning to write and direct the follow-up to the story about John, a grown man whose real-life, hard-partying teddy bear constantly gets him in trouble. MacFarlane also lends his voice to the foul-mouthed title character.

EW.com said it is unclear whether Mila Kunis -- who played John's girlfriend, then wife in the first picture -- will return for "Ted 2."
