Dina Eastwood defends estranged husband Clint

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 4 (UPI) -- Dina Eastwood is asking fans and the media not to criticize her estranged husband, Hollywood filmmaker Clint Eastwood.

Dina, 48, confirmed last week she and Clint, 83, had separated after 17 years of marriage. The couple have a 16-year-old daughter together.

"I don't like reading negative things about Clint," she tweeted Monday. "He is a wonderful, good natured, brilliant person. No matter what, I attest to that."

Clint has seven other children from previous relationships.
