HOUSTON, Aug. 8 (UPI) -- Actor Tom Guiry has been arrested for allegedly head-butting a police officer while he was drunk at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston.
Houston Police Department spokesman John Cannon told E! News United Airlines staff called to report a passenger was too drunk to fly to his destination.
Police arrived on the scene and told Guiry he could spend time in Houston's newly established sobering center and not be charged with any crime, but Guiry refused, became agitated and started threatening the police.
As the 31-year-old star of the 1993 kids' classic film "The Sandlot" was placed under arrest, he attempted to kick one officer in the face, then head-butted another, E! said.
Guiry was charged with felony assault of a public servant.
The actor has also appeared in the films "Tigerland," "Black Hawk Down," "Mystic River" and "Black Irish," as well as the TV series "The Black Donnellys."
